What is the splinter club?

The Splinter Club started in the little village of Greyton in 2022 as a tiered love story – between a boy and a girl, neighbours and friends, and a love for the less (commercially) frequented corner of crazy wooded white wines.

Wine is bottled time, with the winemaker constantly living on the fulcrum between success and failure, perfecting dance between ideas and nature’s elements and then trusting that their hearts work survives the multitude of journeys and hands into our wineglasses. 

To us, the wine drinker, wine marks memories and sits at the heart of stories. Wooded whites was central to ours, and the more we shared the more realised there is scattered audience, ready to forego previous social delights to slow down and appreciate a fine wine.

The Splinter Club is therefore a group of friends and a space where we share our stories around these wines. We share about the wine, from the pen of both the connoisseurs and the commoner, so that wooded whites can be enjoyed by all, understood by all and our beloved winemakers have a larger audience that sips on their art on any given afternoon.
